The answer on going that high to get another target for quarterback Dak Prescott, as it was before Bryant's release this month, is an emphatic "maybe." Dallas has the 19th pick in the first round Thursday night.

"I think we recognize that we've got a hole to fill with Dez," owner and general manager Jerry Jones said Tuesday. "Those receivers we'll have rated first, second, third, fourth, fifth-round receivers, we'll have them rated with or without Dez at those levels."

Dallas decided that Bryant's dramatic decline in production in the three years since he signed a $70 million contract made him not worth the $12.5 million he would have been owed in 2018.

Early in the offseason, Jones also alluded to what he called the distraction of the drama that sometimes surrounded the emotional Bryant.

The Cowboys made a strong play for Sammy Watkins, who chose Kansas City in free agency. They added Allen Hurns Matt Slauson Jersey , who showed potential as a top target in Jacksonville but never had the numbers to support that label. Dallas also signed journeyman Deonte Thompson.

Some of the top receivers in the draft visited the Cowboys, including Alabama's Calvin Ridley and D.J. Moore of Maryland. Another intriguing prospect, Courtland Sutton, played a few miles from the home of the Cowboys at SMU.

Even without a few rookies, the receiver room will be crowded in the offseason and at training camp with the Cowboys trying to get back to the playoffs after missing last season coming off an NFC-best 13 wins in 2016, when Prescott was the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Terrance Williams, the No. 2 receiver behind Bryant the past five years, returns, although he had offseason surgery for a broken right foot and isn't expected to be ready until camp. Cole Beasley and Ryan Switzer, both slot receivers, figure to have roster spots Cameron Meredith Jersey , with Switzer as the primary kick return man.]]>

The Rams made the decision Wednesday during annual preseason conditioning tests. The club didn't disclose any details of Joyner's injury.

Joyner can return from the list at any point http://www.washingtonredskinsteamonline.com/deshazor-everett-jersey , and the Rams need him healthy to be a key contributor to their defense.

The former cornerback moved to safety last season under defensive coordinator Wade Phillips. Joyner made 49 tackles and returned one of his career-high nine interceptions for a touchdown.

Joyner will make $11.28 million this season while playing under the franchise tag after he failed to reach a long-term contract agreement with the Rams earlier this month.

Washington Redskins rookie running back Derrius Guice is out for the season after tearing the ACL in his left knee, a significant blow to the ground game.

Guice was injured in Washington's preseason opener at New England on Thursday night and could be seen on the sideline with ice on his knee. The team announced the prognosis Friday following an MRI, saying Guice should make a full recovery and be ready to play in 2019.

Guice was expected to be the Redskins' starter after they selected him 59th overall in the draft. The LSU product was considered a first-round prospect and fell amid reports of character concerns before being taken late in the second.

"Grabbing him in the second round was obviously a great treat for us, but character was never a concern," coach Jay Gruden said recently, pointing to injuries and the quality of running backs as reasons for Guice falling in the draft. "He's been great, never been late Rigoberto Sanchez Jersey , attentive, great attitude, always happy, happy-go-lucky and fun to be around, quite frankly."]]>

Golden State is the only team in NBA history to lead consecutive Finals 3-0. Both times it was against the Cleveland Cavaliers, including the 2018 Finals that could end with a Warriors win in Game 4 on Friday.

Last season, with a chance to clinch its second title in three years on Cleveland’s home court, the Cavs banged 24 3s and forced a Game 5.

“It’s different, man. I keep telling people,” Golden State’s Kevin Durant said. “It’s just a different vibe because we’ve been through a season with each other already as champions, going through a whole season. So we know exactly what we need to do in order for us to win.

“We wanted to do that, focus on that as much as possible. The emotions and all that stuff doesn’t really matter. We just try to play a solid, focused game, and we’ll figure out how to feel afterward.”

The Warriors are searching for their third title in four years — all against Cleveland — and their sixth title overall, which would tie them for third all time.

Durant Arden Key Jersey , solid through the first two Finals games, jockeyed into pole position to win Finals MVP for the second consecutive season in Game 3 with his playoff-career-high 43 points in the Warriors’ 110-102 win.

Durant is averaging 31.7 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 6.7 assists in the Finals. His numbers are a little behind those of LeBron James (37.7 points, 9.0 rebounds, 10.7 assists) in this series, but Durant has the better team.

Stephen Curry set an NBA record with nine 3s in Game 2 and then shot 1 of 10 from 3 in Game 3. And the Warriors still had enough to beat the Cavs for the 10th time in the last 11 games, counting the regular season.

“We’ve had an opportunity to win two of these games in this three-game series so far, and we haven’t come up with it,” James said. “Obviously, from a talent perspective Trent Taylor Jersey , if you’re looking at Golden State from their top five best players to our top five players, you would say they’re stacked better than us.

“We have a lot of talent as well. We’ve been in a position where we could win two out of these three games. So what do we have to do?”

No team has ever come back from an 0-3 deficit in the NBA playoffs (0-131). But the Cavs are nonetheless a tough out. They’re 7-2 in elimination games since 2015 and have successfully faced down elimination three times already this season.

Kevin Love has registered at least 20 points and 10 boards in all three games so far, giving James at least one layer of support against the vaunted Warriors.

“We’ve given ourselves a chance,” Love said. “I know that we’ll come out in Game 4 and really compete. We’re not going to give in.”]]>

http://www.timelaps.co.uk/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=222 Message from hongwei28 Micah Hyde Jersey , but its defense essentially did.

The scheme that carried the Seahawks to consecutive Super Bowls (2013-14) has become increasingly popular around the league. It helped Atlanta get to the big game last year and was the catalyst for Jacksonville’s stunning turnaround this season. It also got rave reviews down the stretch in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

In a copycat league, this is the one being emulated right now.

And for good reason. The Seahawks rode the scheme to six straight playoff berths between 2012 and 2016, and as more of Pete Carroll’s defensive assistants moved on to become coordinators and head coaches elsewhere, they brought it with them.

Now, it spans coast to coast.

”It really takes on the flavor of the coaches that are doing it, so they have their uniqueness,” Carroll said. ”But there are a lot of similarities.”

Similar results, too.

The Jaguars ranked second in the NFL in yards and points allowed this season, relying on their defense to mask offensive deficiencies. The Chargers ranked third in scoring defense, allowing just two opponents to top 21 points in their final 11 games. The Falcons (eighth) and the injury-riddled Seahawks (13th) weren’t far behind. The 49ers finished 25th at 23.9 points a game, but were considerably better over the final five weeks of the regular season. They allowed 19.9 points during a five-game winning streak that included victories against three playoff teams.

Los Angeles Chargers defensive coordinator Gus Bradley, Atlanta defensive coordinator Marquand Manuel, San Francisco defensive coordinator Robert Saleh Jarvis Jenkins Jersey , Atlanta head coach Dan Quinn and Jacksonville defensive coordinator Todd Wash all spent time in Seattle under Carroll.

Bradley, Manuel, Saleh and Wash were on the same staff in 2012. Former Oakland defensive coordinator Ken Norton also was there and had the Raiders playing the Seattle scheme until he was fired in late November.

”It’s good. It’s nice,” Carroll said. ”I love that the guys are getting the opportunities and they are doing stuff.”

Seattle players don’t seem as ready to credit anyone for doing it as well as they did while picking up the ”Legion of Boom” nickname in 2012.

”There is only one Seattle Seahawks,” linebacker Bobby Wagner said.

Maybe so. Seattle allowed the fewest points (14.4) and yards (273.6) in the NFL during the 2013 season and forced a league-high 39 turnovers. The Seahawks emphatically stated their case as a generational defense – right up there with the 1985 Chicago Bears and the 2000 Baltimore Ravens – with a 43-8 drubbing of Denver in the Super Bowl. The Broncos shattered an NFL record with 606 points during the regular season but were overmatched on the NFL’s biggest stage.]]>

5 p.m.

NFL owners rewrote the rule on using the crown of the helmet, making it a 15-yard penalty to initiate any hit with it.

Rich McKay, chairman of the competition committee, called it ”a significant change,” noting that it was a ”technique too dangerous for the player doing it and the player being hit.”

McKay said the tackle made by the Steelers‘ Ryan Shazier last season that resulted in the linebacker suffering a spinal injury – Shazier underwent spinal stabilization surgery two days later – was not the impetus for the change. But it was an example of what needs to be eliminated from the game.

”This one technique, we saw so many hits when a player lowered his head and delivered a hit and either hurt himself or the player he was hitting,” McKay said. ”It was time for a change of this magnitude.”

The owners did not call for an ejection on such a play – at least not yet. In college football, when a player is penalized for targeting and a replay review affirms it, he is ejected.

Disqualifying players for these hits will be discussed in the future, McKay said, and that would involve replay reviews. He added that the coaches were ”most vociferous” about wanting these hits out of the game.

”I am very pleased to see the overwhelming support of the coaches, general managers and owners that we want to make the game safer,” said Dr. Allen Sills Trent Taylor Jersey , the league’s chief medical officer. ”This is what change that could be made immediately that could impact this technique.”

Rizzo drove in his second run of the game in the seventh inning to snap a tie Matthew Slater Jersey , Kyle Schwarber followed with a solo homer in the eighth and the Cubs rebounded from an early three-run deficit to edge the Detroit Tigers 5-3 on Tuesday for their fifth straight win.

The other team has scored first in each of Chicago’s recent victories, but the Cubs have kept chipping away.

”We know we’re a good team,” Rizzo said. ”We just have to string together good at-bats.”

The Cubs did just that again on Tuesday.

With one out in the seventh, Jason Heyward and Ben Zobrist singled off Tigers reliever Daniel Stumpf (1-4). Rizzo’s slow bouncer up the middle resulted in a force of Zobrist at second, but Jose Iglesias’ throw to first was too late to double up Rizzo and Heyward scored from third to put Chicago ahead for the first time, 4-3.

Schwarber hit his team-leading 17th homer to right against a steady wind off Lake Michigan in the eighth.

Trailing 3-0, Albert Almora Marcus Williams Jersey , Jr. and Heyward each drove in a run with a double, then Rizzo followed with an RBI single in Chicago’s three-run fifth.

Rizzo has just one homer in his past 20 games – and 12 this season – after launching at least 31 in each of the past four seasons. But the Cubs slugger says the longball isn’t always the best approach.

”You get down and start battling (at) two strikes, it’s not about hitting a homer,” Rizzo said. ”It’s just about putting the ball in play and we’re doing a good job at that.”

Justin Wilson (3-2), the second of Chicago’s four relievers, pitched a scoreless seventh to earn the win. Pedro Strop pitched a scoreless ninth for his second save in four chances.

The Cubs’ bullpen allowed just one hit after starter Kyle Hendricks labored through five innings, allowing three runs and seven hits in a no-decision. In his past six starts Bo Jackson Jersey , the right-hander is 1-4 with a 6.75 ERA.

”They didn’t beat him up by any means today,” manager Joe Maddon said. ”It’s just that it wasn’t a typical surgeon-like procedure from Kyle. He looks good, he’s just not executing.”

Detroit leadoff hitter Mikie Mahtook had three singles and scored a run. Niko Goodrum drove in a run with a double, and Jeimer Candelario and James McCann each had an RBI as the Tigers lost their 12th game in their past 14.]]>

Rodgers-Cromartie and the team failed to rework his contract Ethan Pocic Jersey , which called for him to make $6.5 million in salary and a cap hit of $8.5 million.

The 2017 season was a difficult one for the 10-year pro who didn't have an interception and was suspended for one game by then-coach Ben McAdoo for leaving practice without permission.

But Rodgers-Cromartie expressed his regret about leaving the franchise in a tweet Sunday.

"Once a Giant always a Giant right. Thanks for everything, Ima miss my dogs but y'all knw me, SEE BALL, GET BALL!!!"

Rodgers-Cromartie was a first-round draft pick out of Tennessee State by the Cardinals in 2008. He played three seasons for Arizona, getting 13 interceptions, returning two for touchdowns out of three he picked off in 2010. He scored four TDs for Arizona.

He then went to Philadelphia for two years, Denver for one before spending the last four seasons with New York.

Rodgers-Cromartie will be 32 in April. He insisted he mishandled the events leading to his suspension last October, both in how he acted during a game against the Chargers on Oct. 8, and two days later when McAdoo told him he would be inactive for the trip to Denver.

"To be honest, coach called me up and he said some things and I kind of didn't agree with it and I handled it the wrong way Odell Beckham Jr Jersey ," Rodgers-Cromartie said then. And his parents Tevin Coleman Jersey , both of whom played college basketball, did not swoop in to save their young son from the physical games.

Sure, playing at Auburn and in the SEC did a lot to get the Detroit Lions' rookie running back ready for the NFL .

Growing up in Huntsville, Alabama, though as the youngest of four athletic children did a lot to develop him, too.

"My parents let it go because they knew I was being prepared for moments like this," Johnson said Wednesday after a joint practice with the New York Giants.

"When I look back at those times, I'm grateful. It taught me to be competitive and how to work hard and never give up.

"I look back on those days and I'm grateful."

Detroit, meanwhile, is thankful it drafted Johnson in the second round.

He had a run and a reception for 30-plus yards in his professional debut, albeit it a preseason game last week against the Oakland Raiders.

While the Lions were encouraged by Johnson's flashes of promise, and have been pleased by how well he has practiced, they are quick to pump the breaks to temper the enthusiasm about him.

"I was excited to see him have a couple big plays and show off some of his natural ability," Detroit coach Matt Patricia said. "But from an overall standpoint, we've a long way to go there."

Detroit's running game can't get much worse.

Under former coach Jim Caldwell Cordarrelle Patterson Jersey , the Lions ranked last in rushing offense in 2017 for the second time in three years.

In the other two seasons with Caldwell, the team ranked No. 30 and No. 28 in the NFL on the ground offensively.

Johnson won't be expected to fix the lingering problem alone.

Detroit selected Frank Ragnow 20th overall in the draft, counting on him to play alongside four returning starters to bolster the offensive line.

Veteran running back LeGarrette Blount was signed early in free agency to likely lead a group that also includes Theo Riddick and Ameer Abdullah.

"I've had a smooth start because I've got a great room of guys, who have really helped me make the transition," Johnson said.

"I owe my early success to them. They've helped me to develop a routine and have encouraged me to stick to it to keep my mind focused on the next day.

"This is a long season. It feels like we've already played three games, but we've only played one preseason game."

Johnson said he goes to bed at 10:30 p.m., at the latest, so that he's ready to wake up for 6 a.m. to tackle training camp.

The grind his parents and siblings put him through while he was growing up got him ready to thrive now.]]>

http://www.timelaps.co.uk/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=217 Message from hongwei28 Philip Rivers Jersey , the Arizona Cardinals need a new starting quarterback. Currently, they have one. But that could change.

“We’re pushing everybody to start,” coach Steve Wilks said Friday Mark Bavaro Jersey , via NFL.com. “I’ve stated this several times: Sam Bradford is our starter. We gotta go out there with 11 guys and Sam’s going to be the first guy out there. But everybody’s fighting for a position, so I’m not going to hold [Josh Rosen] back at all.

“I want guys competing, I want guys fighting for a starting job. Whoever ends up winning the position Robbie Gould Jersey , that’s who’s going to end up playing.”

That’s the smart way to do it. If a rookie establishes himself as the best guy, he needs to be playing, period. That’s what the Bills are doing with Josh Allen Justin Coleman Jersey , but apparently not what the Browns are doing with Baker Mayfield.

It’s what the Seahawks did with Russell Wilson six years ago, when he unexpectedly outperformed Matt Flynn. People outside the team were surprised; people inside the team weren’t, because they knew Wilson was the best option.

Wide receiver Phillip Dorsett went for a medical evaluation after going down during Patriots practice on Tuesday and it appears he avoided any serious injury.

Dorsett spent time in the blue medical tent getting checked out before emerging to watch the remainder of the session and catch passes on the side of the field. According to multiple reports Demarcus Robinson Jersey , Dorsett checked out fine and is not expected to miss any practice time.

That’s a good development for the Patriots as they’ve parted ways with two receivers who were injured this summer and have practiced without others for medical reasons during camp. They’ll also need as many hands on deck as possible with Julian Edelman set to serve a four-game suspension to start the year.

Dorsett caught 12 passes for 194 yards last year after being acquired in a trade with the Colts just before the season. Quarterback Tom Brady said Tuesday that Dorsett has “been doing so well” in his first full offseason with the club.

Whether it is Peterman’s inexperience Alan Page Jersey , the shaky offensive line or thin receiving corps, people have reasons to think the Bills offense is going to have a hard time once the regular season starts this weekend. That extends to members of the team’s defense as well.

Linebacker Lorenzo Alexander added it all up and said the defense needs to carry the team until the offense can take on a bigger share of the burden.

“Our goal is always to win and to do that you have to take the ball away. We want to be a top five defense,” Alexander said, via the team’s website. 鈥淲e want to be the leaders of this team as far as giving our offense advantageous field position, short fields. The main reason why is because we understand we鈥檙e going to have a young quarterback in terms of experience. So, we need to help the offense out as much as we can. It鈥檚 going to take time until Nate is able to develop and really take the reins of the offense and make it his own and become that guy. So right now, we feel defensively we have the pieces in place to be the bell cow of this team and lead the way.”

Such an arrangement leaves little margin for error for the defense and safety Micah Hyde said the unit needs to “be more consistent and it starts with us not beating ourselves.” Sunday’s trip to Baltimore will be the first test of that approach to the 2018 season.

The men behind the benches for the Vegas Golden Knights and Winnipeg Jets Aaron Ripkowski Jersey , though, both have led their teams into the Western Conference final after following long, winding paths.

”It’s quite a story for both of them,” Hall of Fame coach Scotty Bowman said in a telephone interview.

Gallant was fired by the Florida Panthers with a winning record just 21 games into the 2016-17 season, leaving him to catch a cab outside the arena in Raleigh, North Carolina, after his belongings were unloaded from the bus.

Maurice was fired by the Carolina Hurricanes twice. The second time was after just 25 games of the 2011-12 season.

They will match wits Wednesday night in Game 3 when Vegas hopes home ice gives it an advantage in the deadlocked series.

Gallant was infamously relieved of his duties with the Panthers, a season after being a finalist for coach of the year, because of philosophical differences between analytics-minded management and the old-school coach.

”He was left on the curb,” Golden Knights forward James Neal said.

Vegas center Jonathan Marchessault was on the bus when news broke that Florida had fired its coach.

”It was kind of out of nowhere,” he recalled.

And it worked out very well for Gallant and a team that also came out of nowhere.

The coach discarded by the Panthers has led a collection of castoffs to a stunningly successful expansion season.

”It’s a perfect fit,” Marchessault said.

DOMINGO GERMAN Laremy Tunsil Jersey , SP, New York Yankees (41 percent owned in Yahoo) – It’s looking like the Yankees have found something in German. The surface stats (4.77 ERA) don’t pop out, but his underlying numbers show he’s performing better than the stats. He’s generating a lot of swing-and-misses, and he has a great offense backing him up.

FREDDY PERALTA, SP, Milwaukee Brewers (25 percent) – Peralta got the call earlier this week, and he looks to remain in the Milwaukee rotation for the foreseeable future as the group lacks talent. He relies on his fastball a lot, so he’s going to have to start mixing in some secondary pitches to continue his success. He should be considered a SP5.

SHELBY MILLER, SP, Arizona Diamondbacks (6 percent) – Miller is coming off Tommy John surgery right into a two-start week. He’s a risky play next week, but he’s worth the stash to see if he can put it together in the pitcher-friendly environment as a backend starter.

KEVIN KIERMAIER, OF Thurman Thomas Jersey , Tampa Bay Rays (21 percent) – Let’s face it – the stolen-base specialists have let everyone down this year. Keirmaier was activated from the disabled list earlier this week, and while he struggled early in the year, he offers speed, but also contributes across the board. He’s an OF4 in category and roto leagues.

TWO-START PITCHERS TO STREAM

REYNALDO LOPEZ, SP, Chicago White Sox (24 percent) – It’s tough to trust Lopez on a week-by-week basis, but he has two above-average matchups next week against the Twins and the Rangers.

FRANKE MONTAS, SP, Oakland Athletics (23 percent) – Long term, Montas is a reliever, but for this year he’s worth streaming when he has good matchups. He has one against Detroit and then a weekend matchup against the Indians. He’s shown enough that he’s worth the gamble.

FELIX HERNANDEZ, SP Demar Dotson Jersey , Seattle Mariners (46 percent) – Hernandez has only allowed three combined earned runs in his past two starts. It’s more impressive that those starts were against the Yankees and Red Sox. The success should continue against the Orioles and Royals.

HITTERS TO STREAM

MAX MUNCY, 1B/3B/OF, Los Angeles Dodgers (63 percent) – Why isn’t Muncy at least 80 percent owned? Pick him up for next week for his good matchups, and keep him in your lineup moving forward.

ERIC THAMES, 1B/OF, Milwaukee Brewers (47 percent) – The Brewers have six games against the Reds and the Royals. Only one is against a lefty. Thames could have a huge week ahead of him.

JON JAY, OF, Arizona Diamondbacks (31 percent) – All Jay has quietly done is produce for the Diamondbacks since his trade to Arizona. The D-backs have seven games against Miami and San Francisco. He can give you a boost in batting average next week.

That’s nothing new for New York’s newest cornerback Aaron Ripkowski Jersey , who has already established himself as one of the NFL’s best at his position. And he got paid as such, signing a five-year, $72.5 million deal last week that included a $20 million signing bonus and $34 million in guaranteed money.

”No pressure at all,” Johnson said Thursday during a conference call with reporters. ”I know what I can do. I know what I can bring to the game. I’ve been confident all my life. I really love winning, and I can’t wait to get started with this defense.”

Johnson spent his first six seasons with the Rams and was arguably the top cornerback available at the start of the league’s free agency period last Wednesday. He had 18 interceptions while establishing himself as one of the best cover cornerbacks in the NFL, routinely tracking opponents’ top wide receivers the last two seasons for Los Angeles.

He joins an improved and promising secondary that includes the recently re-signed Morris Claiborne, New York’s top cornerback last year, along with second-year safeties Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye.

”On paper, it does look good, but a lot of things go along with that,” Johnson said. ”I’m just focused, right now, on getting in the building, meeting everybody else, the rest of the coaches, the strength and conditioning coaches, the staff. My main focus is winning. That’s always been my main focus. That’s my goal. I love winning and I can’t wait to get started with the New York Jets.”

After he signed, Johnson said he immediately heard from his new secondary mates as Adams, Maye and Claiborne all reached out to him to welcome him to the team.

Some fans and media have already started to wonder if Johnson and Claiborne could be the top cornerback duo in the NFL. And Johnson doesn’t shy away from that potential label.

”Why not?” Johnson asked. ”I’m going to hold him accountable and I know he’s going to hold me accountable. I can’t wait to go out there and compete with the guys.”

Johnson was a third-round pick out of Montana in 2012 and established himself as a solid starter in his second year with the Rams. His breakout season came in 2015 Eric Fisher Jersey , when he had a career-high seven interceptions. The Rams used the franchise tag on Johnson the last two offseasons, when he made $13.95 million in 2016 and $16.74 million last year.

But this offseason was the first time Johnson was able to make his own decision on where to play – and set his own terms.

”It is good to have security, finally,” he said. ”That’s what one of my main focuses has been, trying to get that long-term contract. I’m happy that the Jets took a chance on me.”

Johnson’s talents are unquestioned, and he has the confidence to match them. He didn’t hesitate when asked what he brings to his new team.]]>

Broward County court records show Anderson pleaded no contest Wednesday to misdemeanor reckless driving as part of a deal with prosecutors. The 25-year-old had faced multiple charges Jerry Hughes Jersey , including a felony count of fleeing and eluding police. Those charges were previously dismissed.

A Sunrise police report shows Anderson’s SUV was stopped after it ran two red lights and was swerving while traveling about 105 mph (170 kph) in a 45 mph zone.

Anderson set career highs with 63 catches, 941 yards receiving and seven touchdowns in 2017, his second NFL season.

There was no immediate response to an email seeking comment from Anderson’s attorney.

The Ravens will have a new General Manager next year, and they just drafted a first-round quarterback.

But they also still have a solid core of veteran leaders, and outside linebacker Terrell Suggs says he thinks that will remain the case for the near future.

During a fan forum conference call, Suggs said he thought he and quarterback Joe Flacco would remain key parts of the franchise for years to come.]]>

Dyson made sure nobody will ever know with a leaping Shareece Wright Jersey , lunging catch that might have saved a win for the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Paul Goldschmidt hit an early two-run homer and Zack Greinke pitched into the seventh inning of the Diamondbacks’ 12th victory in 16 games in June, 7-4 over the struggling Los Angeles Angels on Monday night.

Dyson had an early RBI single, and he prevented at least a couple of runs in the seventh with his catch on a possible grand slam by Upton. The nimble outfielder made it look relatively easy, turning Upton’s shot into a 390-foot sacrifice fly.

”It was real sweet to take four off the board like that,” Dyson said. ”I don’t know if it was going to go over, but if I didn’t catch it, there was going to be more than one baserunner scoring.”

Greinke (6-5) gave up back-to-back homers by Upton and Albert Pujols in the fourth, but the Diamondbacks backed him with six early runs, responding well after blowing a two-run lead in the ninth inning of a home loss to the Mets on Sunday.

Greinke left after giving up Kole Calhoun’s one-out single in the seventh with a 6-2 lead. Two more Angels reached base against Yoshihisa Hirano before Dyson dramatically tracked down Upton’s full-count drive to the wall.

”I knew I hit it hard, and it was going to be at least off the wall,” Upton said with a grimace. ”He was in good position Ryan Quigley Jersey , and he’s fast, and he just got it. … I did my job. I hit the ball on the barrel, and I thought I had a home run. That’s baseball.”

Mike Trout nearly pulled his own leaping feat moments later, but Nick Ahmed’s homer glanced off his glove on the way over the center-field fence in the eighth for Arizona’s final run in its ninth win in 11 games.

”He’s one of a kind,” Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said of Dyson, who thinks he has taken away at least three potential homers by opponents this season. ”You just appreciate every play he makes, every little thing he does.”]]>

Watabe jumped 130.5 meters and finished the 10-kilometer race in 24 minutes Carl Banks Jersey , 14.6 seconds, 1:12.6 ahead of Norway’s Jan Schmid. Germany’s Manuel Faisst was third.

The 29-year-old Sochi silver medalist, who will represent Japan in his fourth straight Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, extended his season wins to five – the most he has won in a single season on the World Cup circuit.

Watabe became only the second athlete to sweep the three-day Seefeld Triple event in Austria last month. He has surged to the top of the World Cup standings with the results from Japan and Austria, adding to a win earlier this season in Finland.

Schmid caught Faisst on the last steep uphill and crossed the finish line 10 seconds ahead of the German skier to claim his third runner-up finish of the season.

Watabe has 845 points in the overall standings, 60 ahead of Schmid heading into Sunday’s final World Cup event before the Olympics.

New coach Pat Shurmur wants the New York Giants to do the right thing when the national anthem is played before NFL games this season Joe Thuney Jersey , and that could be a problem.

Under rules enacted by the league last week, players can stay in the locker room during "The Star-Spangled Banner," but must stand if they are on the field. Teams will be fined for violations.

That puts Shurmur and the Giants in a difficult position.

While there were only a few players kneeling during the anthem at the end of last season, two are currently on the Giants' roster. Star defensive end Olivier Vernon got down on one knee during every game last season. Safety Michael Thomas, signed in March as a free agent after five seasons in Miami, has gone down on a knee during the anthem much of the past two seasons to support the movement started by former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick in 2016.

Shurmur said the Giants are going to let things settle before talking about the new rule as a team.]]>

That fit with the way Jones handled the rest of the offseason as he skipped voluntary workouts and mandatory minicamp Greg Olsen Jersey , but any initial plans became a moot point once the team and Jones reached agreement on a deal that will bump his pay more than $2 million this season.

Moot or not, Jones reported to camp and told reporters on Friday that those reports about his plans weren’t accurate. Jones said he was working on his own to get in the best shape possible and that he’d spoken to coach Dan Quinn and teammates to tell them that he would be at camp.

“I was already gonna come here. They took care of it. We knew all along we were gonna get it handled,” Jones said.

The revised deal Jones struck with the team this week comes with the expectation that they will come back after the season to address a deal that runs beyond the two years left on his current deal. Jones said he spoke to team owner Arthur Blank about being a “Falcon for life,” so it seems all is well in Atlanta between the team and its top receiver.

There is an element of danger involved with every NBA draft pick AJ McCarron Jersey , in that nothing is guaranteed. There isn’t a player that epitomizes the risk versus reward thinking in this draft more than Porter Jr., who could get taken as high as No. 2 by Sacramento or go several picks lower because of uncertainty surrounding his health.

Back problems that necessitated surgery limited his lone college season to three games at Missouri, and a scheduled Friday workout was called off because of hip spasms. There’s still a chance he will do a workout before draft night and teams have gotten access to new medical information that would seem to suggest he’s ready for the NBA – but still, skepticism may be understandable.

http://www.timelaps.co.uk/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=204 Message from hongwei28 Pierre Desir Jersey , Detroit quarterback Matt Stafford has a few modest goals for the Lions offense.

"Just execute and communicate at a high level," Stafford said Wednesday. "Get out there and communicate and make sure everybody's on the same page. At the end of the day, on offense if everybody's communicating on the same page you're going to have a chance to be successful. That's the biggest thing, go out there and make sure that we're just playing good, sound football."

The Lions spent the past two days conducting joint workouts with Oakland at the Raiders' training camp facilities in the heart of Napa Valley wine country.

Following Tuesday's 2 1/2-hour practice, which was highlighted by a multi-player brawl that ended a team scrimmage session, the Lions packed up to travel to a hotel 75 miles south of Napa where they'll stay until Friday's game.

Detroit first-year coach Matt Patricia declined to say how much Stafford and the rest of the Lions starters will play.

"I'm just trying to get through today's practice and make sure I get everybody going in the right direction," Patricia said prior to Tuesday's practice. "We'll find out on Friday."

The Lions' first offense had an uneven day against the Raiders during the team scrimmage. They were flagged for three penalties and sputtered on their initial drive before Stafford found wide receivers Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones Jr. for deep completions.

"I feel physically good," Stafford said. "Obviously another year in the system is going to hopefully help me expand my ability within the system to get us into the best plays possible. I feel very comfortable at the line of scrimmage doing our thing, but I can always be better. I'm always trying to find ways to improve and to get the ball to those playmakers at a higher clip."

Stafford passed for 4,446 yards with 29 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 2017, his seventh consecutive season with 4,200 yards or more. The 30-year-old quarterback also had a career-best 99.3 passer rating.

Detroit Jeff Allen Jersey , which hasn't made it past the wild card round of the playoffs since 1991, won three of its final four games down the stretch but failed to advance to the postseason.

Although he won't be on the field very long Friday, Stafford is relishing playing in a game after mostly practicing against Detroit's defense before the two workouts with Oakland.

"It's a good change-up," Stafford said. "We have to go out and prepare for another defense a night before. You don't have a ton of time to look at them. You just go out there and try to execute your stuff as well as you can. I've got players on this team that I've never played an NFL game with before so it's going to be to see how they go about their business and how they react."

Tuesday's practice got chippy when Lions defensive end Anthony Zettel hit Raiders backup guard Jon Feliciano from the side, sparking a fracas involving multiple players before they were eventually pulled apart.

The Boston Red Sox rolled through the pre-All-Star game portion of their schedule piling up wins. Now, they’ll have a few days to sit back, relax and enjoy their historic start.]]>

Randall said Wednesday he never imagined that an innocent Twitter posting about the NBA Finals would blow up into a national story – and maybe something he lives to regret.

A big fan of Golden State star guard Stephen Curry Tom Waddle Jersey , Randall posted a tweet on Monday night promising that if the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Warriors in the ”2018 NBA finals, I’ll buy everyone who retweet’s this a jersey.”

By Wednesday afternoon, Randall’s tweet had been retweeted 869,000 times.

”Honestly, I didn’t think it was going to get over 100,” Randall said after practice. ”I didn’t think people were going to actually view that as a serious tweet from me. But obviously it got the whole world excited about it, and I mean now I’m actually excited about it. It is a great, great opportunity to interact with the fans and we’re just going to watch the series and just see how everything folds out.”

Randall, who came to the Browns in a March trade from Green Bay, said he couldn’t track the number of re-tweets because his phone locked up when he tried to access his Twitter account.

”I definitely didn’t think it would go as viral as it did,” the 25-year-old said. ”I definitely didn’t think the Cleveland fan base would go this crazy about it. Obviously, it was a joke, but just to know how passionate this fan base is, I mean, it’s just really encouraging.”

Randall wouldn’t say if he planned to pay off his promise if the Cavs win.

”We’ll talk about this after the series is over Jeremy Vujnovich Jersey ,” he said.

Randall is from Florida, but said he became a fan of Curry’s after the shooting star made a name for himself at Davidson College and went pro. Randall said he also likes Cleveland’s superstar LeBron James, but not as much as Curry.

”I am not anti-LeBron. I am actually a big LeBron fan as well, but when he’s going against Steph, I would rather Steph over LeBron,” he said. ”But at the end of the day, I mean they are both great, great players, and I definitely respect everything that LeBron has done for this community and for this city and state. He is one of the greatest players to ever touch a basketball if you ask me.”

Browns quarterback Tyrod Taylor had some advice for Randall when it comes to picking sides and making your opinion public on social media.

”Don’t hit send,” he said. ”Should have been smarter about the whole situation, about the tweet. Whether you feel that way or not, don’t tweet it.”

Coach Hue Jackson, who plans to jump into Lake Erie on Friday to make good on a promise he made when the team was going 0-16 last season, knew Randall would get some heat for his tweet.

”I think what Damarious found out is that there are a lot of passionate Cleveland fans here, and you’ve got to be careful about what you say Terrance Williams Jersey ,” Jackson said. ”I don’t think he meant any harm. I think he has a love and a respect for Curry, obviously. But he found out that, `Hey, look, in this city it’s about the Cavaliers and LeBron James.”

Jackson also used a comment made by James following Cleveland’s win in Boston on Sunday as a teaching tool for the Browns.

”Just the other day, I was able to show them LeBron’s message to the media in Game 7 when he talked about team,” he said.

”I thought it was tremendous. I thought what he said about his other teammates and how they are a huge part of it and how people who have not played the game or wore shorts or been in a locker room understand what it takes to win. I thought that was sensational. I said that to our football team.”]]>

A full year before he could become a free agent Zach Zenner Jersey , the hulking No. 1 defenseman told his agent he wanted to sign a long-term extension with the Tampa Bay Lightning the first day he could. Hedman put pen to paper on an eight-year contract well before the sun went down.

”It was never a doubt,” Hedman said that day. ”Staying in Tampa was the No. 1 priority.”

Patrice Bergeron felt the same way when he signed his second, third and fourth contract with the Boston Bruins. Like Hedman, Bergeron wanted to stay with the organization that drafted and developed him for as long as possible while taking less money to surround himself with enough talent to win.

Now each player is on the road to joining an exclusive and growing club of players who reach 1,000 games with one team. Over the past week, Chicago’s Brent Seabrook and Washington’s Alex Ovechkin became the 49th and 50th players in NHL history to play their first 1,000 regular-season games with the same organization, and that group will welcome many members in the next several years as franchise building blocks lock in to long-term deals.

”You’re going to see it more often now,” Capitals defenseman Brooks Orpik said. ”Just the way the CBA is and the way the bigger names probably don’t move around as much as they did in earlier years.”

Next season alone, longtime Seabrook defensive partner Duncan Keith and Bergeron are expected to join the one for 1,000 group, with Minnesota captain Mikko Koivu and Los Angeles captain Anze Kopitar in reach of the milestone before the end of 2018-19 if they stay healthy. San Jose’s Marc-Edouard Vlasic and Joe Pavelski, Pittsburgh’s Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin and Chicago’s Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews aren’t far behind as this era of long-term stability produces a parade of silver-stick ceremonies for one-team foundation pieces.]]>

The former Philadelphia run-stopper signed a three-year Deyshawn Bond Jersey , $15 million contract Thursday and has no qualms about leaving the reigning NFL champion Eagles to join a team that hasn’t made the playoffs in a decade.

Allen said he’s excited about the challenge of doing his part to help the Bucs get better.

”We won the Super Bowl in Philadelphia, but it wasn’t all roses before that. We had tough seasons, too,” the fifth-year pro said.

”I’m not afraid of work at all,” Allen added. ”That’s why I’m here.”

The 26-year-old tackle comes to the Bucs after spending the first four seasons of his career as part of a strong interior rotation with the Eagles, who led the league in rushing defense in 2017, limiting opponents to 79.2 yards per game on the ground.

The Bucs, by comparison, ranked 23rd against the run Donte Jackson Jersey , allowing 117.5 yards per game.

”Stopping the run is a huge part of the game, and that’s one thing we did really well in Philadelphia last year,” Allen said.

”We were the No. 1 run defense and I think, to toot my own horn a little bit, I was a big part of that,” he added. ”We had a lot of good defensive lineman, a lot of good defensive players … so that went into it as well.”

With Tampa Bay, the 6-foot-3, 327-pound Allen fills a need for interior help created by the release of underperforming tackle Chris Baker and loss of veteran Clinton McDonald Eddie Yarbrough Jersey , who became an unrestricted free agent.

Allen, who is excited about playing alongside six-time Pro Bowl tackle Gerald McCoy, entered the NFL as a seventh-round draft pick of the Eagles in 2014. He appeared in 63 games, with eight starts, and had two sacks and 10 tackles for losses over the past four seasons.

”I pride myself on playing a pretty specific brand of football that did well for me in Philadelphia,” he said. ”I consider myself a tough, dependable, consistent guy. I think that’s one thing (Tampa Bay) liked about me, and that’s one thing that’s not going to change.”

Free-agent linebacker Joe Thomas has reached a two-year deal with the Cowboys Seth DeValve Jersey , a person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press on Wednesday night. The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the deal hadn't been signed, and there was no announcement from the team.

Thomas started eight of his 42 games the past three seasons for the Green Bay Packers. He was also a contributor on special teams.

Undrafted out of South Carolina State, Thomas initially signed with the Packers in 2014 and spent part of that season on their practice squad. After being a preseason roster cut by Green Bay in 2015, he then was on the practice squad in Dallas before being signed to the Packers' active roster and making his NFL debut, playing 14 games that season.

The Cowboys lost linebackers Anthony Hitchens and Kyler Wilber in free agency. Hitchens signed with the Kansas City Chiefs Mitch Unrein Jersey , and Wilber signed with the Oakland Raiders.

AP Pro Football Writer Schuyler Dixon contributed to this report.

After losing a 20-point lead to the Boston Celtics, the Milwaukee Bucks were determined not to lose another playoff game.

Leave it to All-Star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo to come up with a big play in the final seconds on Sunday.

Antetokounmpo scored 27 points, including tipping in the go-ahead basket with 5 seconds left, and the Bucks held on for a 104-102 win to tie their first-round playoff series at two games apiece.

Boston’s Marcus Morris missed a 14-footer at the buzzer with Khris Middleton’s hand in his face to seal a nail-biting win for the Bucks.

Seconds earlier, the 6-foot-11 Antetokounmpo jumped and reached up with his left arm around Boston’s Jayson Tatum to put back Malcolm Brogdon’s missed layup for the game-winner.

”It’s a heck of play Marcus Cooper Jersey ,” coach Joe Prunty said.

Game 5 is Tuesday night in Boston.

Antetokounmpo added seven rebounds and five assists, while Middleton scored 23 points. The Bucks’ two best players were clutch in the closing seconds of a tense victory, another sign of maturity for the one of the league’s up-and-coming teams.

”One of the most important things that we can carry from this game moving forward is that we stayed disciplined and we trusted one another,” Antetokounmpo said.

It could just as easily have fallen apart for Milwaukee after losing a 20-point lead with 7:37 left in the third quarter.

Jaylen Brown had 34 points for the Celtics, while Tatum added 21. Tatum’s 18-footer with 52 seconds left gave the Celtics a brief 100-99 lead.

He just couldn’t hold off Antetokounmpo on the other end for the decisive tip-in.

The disappointing end for the Celtics overshadowed their spirited rally from a 65-45 deficit. Play got chippy and the Celtics limited the Bucks’ transition game.

They came up one basket short at the end.

Antetokounmpo ”made a great tip-in and he was battling for the ball. That’s what great players do Ka'imi Fairbairn Jersey ,” coach Brad Stevens said.]]>

The Brewers improved to 3-8 this season against the Cubs and moved 1 1/2 games ahead of second-place Chicago in the NL Central. Seven of the 11 games between the two have been shutouts, five by Chicago.

”We’re a good baseball team and we know they’re a good baseball team,” Brewers manager Craig Counsell said. ”This series wasn’t going to decide anything, but we know that that’s a team that’s going to be there in the end, so wins against them are important.”

Chacin (6-1) allowed four hits in six innings, striking out seven and walking four to win his sixth consecutive decision. Jeremy Jeffress pitched the seventh, Josh Hader struck out the side in the eighth and Cory Knebel worked a perfect ninth for his sixth save.

”Their guy was really good at keeping us off-balance,” Maddon said. ”He is not overpowering by any means but he pitches well. Sometimes that gives us a lot of trouble when a guy can pitch like that. We had a couple opportunities. We didn’t square him up at all really.”

Mike Montgomery (2-2) allowed only two hits in six innings, both by Cain. He struck out four and walked one in his fourth start since replacing injured Yu Darvish in the rotation.

Cain drove a 3-1 pitch over the wall in left with one out in the third for his eighth homer. He also opened the first inning with a single.

”It was the only run today Case Keenum Jersey , but it ended up winning us a ballgame,” Cain said. ”That just shows how great of a job the pitching has been doing. We’ve definitely got to get going and score some more runs. We’re definitely putting too much pressure on our pitchers as a whole.”

To open the eighth, Maddon brought in right-hander Steve Cishek, who gave up an infield single to Orlando Arcia. Cishek then moved to left field for the first time in his eight-year career as left-hander Brian Duensing came on and struck out pinch-hitter Eric Thames.]]>
